oving at any point in the year is difficult enough, especially when the weather is at its worst. If you're planning on moving this winter, you should learn how to use the weather/season to your advantage
When moving in winter, your first priority should always be staying warm. Be sure to carry warm clothes with you and don't forget to do the same for your family. Always keep an extra load of handy items like gloves, scarves, boots and hats. You should have these items packed at least 2 weeks before you move. That way you wouldn't look too far for what's important.
Check your local weather forecast to plan your trip if you're driving to your new address. Check your tire air pressure and make sure to have your car inspected or serviced before taking the road. You should also keep handy an emergency kit including a first aid kit, flashlight, matches and some food.
Before moving into your new home, make sure your heating company is aware of your moving day and have all necessary services up and running at least 2 days before your arrival. To keep your hydro bill low, cloak your doors and windows. Don't forget the snow salt and the shovel to make sure no one is hurt when your driveway is full with snow.
After all the hard work, your deserve a little break. Take your family skating or go to the local coffee shop and make some new friends. You neighbors would like to welcome you. If you have kids, you owe them at least one visit to Santa and when you come back home; make some soup, turn on your TV and enjoy your new home
